I like beer and it really makes no difference what brand. If it is wet and cold, then I like it. I voted for Heineken because that is what I will drink when I am out in a bar. At home, I am more budget minded and will often drink Chang, Leo or whatever is on sale.

Here is another meteor shower called Geminid. Stargazers unite! One of the most impressive and dazzling spectacles of the night sky is quickly approaching! On December 7th through the 17th, be ready for the appearance of the annual Geminid Meteor Shower! This year, the peak of the shower is predicted to occur on the night of the 13th, so don’t miss the chance to educate the children in your life about such an incredible phenomenon. First observed in 1862 by R.P. Greg in Manchester, England, the Geminid meteor shower can be seen anywhere in the night sky. Astrologers suspect that the meteor showers grow more intense every year with recent showers producing up to 120-150 meteors per hour! To make the spectacle even more impressive, the meteor shower is one of the few that appears in colorful hues of green, blue, and yellow! Although in past years, the meteor shower has coincided with a full moon, the 2009 Geminid meteor shower will take place two days before the full moon making for optimal viewing! http://www.prlog.org/10437774-2009-geminid-meteor-shower-to-reappear-december-7.html

Tiger's problem really blew up in his face and the story keeps on going. Here is an article discussing why this turned into such a big story. By Jay Busbee As we wind down from TigerCrashGate -- yes, it's true, we're almost done, at least until he returns to the course -- it's worth taking a look at the way that this story spiraled from one-car hydrant-bump to worldwide scandal, one whose cost will eventually be measured in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Here's the key question to all of this: did we need to know about Tiger Woods' secret, off-the-course life? Many argue that this is an unforgivable invasion of a family's privacy, that we're interested in Tiger Woods as a golfer, not as a family man. As long as he keeps sinking long putts on Sunday afternoons, who cares what he does later that evening? But that just-golf-it mindset doesn't account for the fact that Woods is not "just a golfer," he's the public face of an entire corporation. What he does on his own time is not his own business, not when his actions can do financial harm to those who have invested hundreds of millions in his image. That financial impact, not the "more mistresses or more majors?" question, is the real story here. Still, the reason why this scandal exploded the way it did is because Woods' secret dealings were allowed to continue unabated, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The more Woods got away with his misdeeds, the bolder -- and stupider -- he got. (Leaving your name on a voicemail? Sending texts from your own phone? Really, Tiger?) Part of this is surely because of the coverage bubble that Woods enjoyed for all of his career, a bubble that was born fully formed in Gary Smith's absurdly over-the-top introduction/sanctification of Woods in a legendary 1996 Sports Illustrated article entitled "The Chosen One." The see-no-evil approach to Tiger then dominated the golf media for more than a decade, partly because everyone was so in awe of Woods, and partly because Woods would cut off any access to any media outlet daring to poke around the edges of the mystique. Did Tiger Woods have everyone fooled? Did the golf media know about Tiger's affairs and cover them up? Did everyone just happen to look the other way at the proper time? Those are questions that each media member will have to answer for him- or herself, but here's one huge clue: there are several golf media members who have not written a single word about this, the biggest story to hit golf in decades. Why? Well, you'd have to ask them, but it's a fair bet that they're setting themselves up as good guys when Tiger eventually does return. ("See, Tiger? All those other guys piled on, but I didn't! I'm still your pal!") On the flip side, credit longtime golf writers like Steve Elling who actually did call out Woods, knowing full well that they'll find that next one-on-one interview that much tougher -- if not impossible -- to secure. Many in the golf media got completely outplayed on this story because of their insistence that it was no golf story at all, it was nothing but celebrity garbage, tawdry trash-digging that was beneath them. And again, if it was nothing but the personal affairs of a private family, that would be true. But Tiger's absence from the Tour is going to cost people and corporations hundreds of millions of dollars and fundamentally alter the game of golf for the short term -- so, yeah, that very much is a golf story. Journalists who complain that the tabloids were setting the agenda in this story should have been practicing a little shoe-leather journalism themselves. After the initial revelation on the day before Thanksgiving that Rachel Uchitel was somehow involved with Woods, it was a blogger who trumped the mainstream media and first contacted her. In the absence of comments from Team Tiger, the tabloids filled in the gaps, and despite their "bat boy/UFO abduction" rep, were on the whole more accurate than not. (Tiger's admission of "infidelities" plural is a testament to that.) More at http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/blog/devil_ball_golf/post/Tiger-Woods-in-the-news-tabloid-reveleations-an?urn=golf,208325

I would not think, a plastic lock is enough to keep a horny 25 year old from enjoying himself if he was in the mood. Maybe the threat of punishment from his mistress would be?

Crazy that these two well-liked teachers were stupid enough to jeopardize their careers for a roll in the hay. Some people are risk takers and get off on having sex in risky places. Now they pay the piper.

Cambodia, Thailand veer closer to collision course

Looks like Thaskin is back in Cambodia again. The Thai government says they are going to file extradition papers again. More of the same. BANGKOK: Fugitive former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra announced on Saturday on his online Twitter page that he will make a week-long trip to visit three Asian countries. His visit to Cambodia last month, to take up an economic advisory role with the government, caused a diplomatic row after Cambodian premier Hun Sen refused to extradite Thaksin to Thailand to serve a two-year jail term for graft. "I have asked permission to visit and exchange views with three leaders in Asia for seven to eight days," Thaksin said on his Twitter page, giving no further details. Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Friday responded to rumours that Thaksin was planning a return to neighbouring Cambodia and said the government would probably submit another extradition request if he did so. "If he enters our airspace, we will try to arrest him because he is facing a jail term. We are likely to request for his extradition once again," Abhisit told reporters. On Friday, Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni pardoned Thai national Siwarak Chothipong, who had been sentenced to seven years in prison for spying on Thaksin during his visit to Phnom Penh. The 31-year-old employee at the Cambodia Air Traffic Service will be released from prison on Monday, following his conviction last Tuesday for supplying Thaksin's flight schedule to the Thai embassy. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/1024323/1/.html -
American Man Gets 20 Years for Molesting Thai Children

I think the district attorney was right on when he said, "People don't start to become pedophiles at 78," Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita told the AP. "I call them vampires. ... This is something that's deep inside of them, and they won't want to stop doing this until they're dead." -
Not sure why this plane headed to Sri Lanka would be loaded with tons of weapons. Doesn’t make sense to me. BANGKOK – Five foreigners were detained and their foreign-registered aircraft impounded after it landed in the Thai capital Saturday with tons of war weaponry on board that originated in North Korea, Thai officials said. Air Force spokesman Capt. Montol Suchookorn said the chartered cargo plane originated in North Korea's capital Pyongyang and requested to land at Bangkok's Don Muang airport to refuel. Government spokesman Panithan Wattanayakorn confirmed the seizure and the arrests, saying the weapons included "missiles, explosives and tubes." He told The Associated Press that the material was being transferred to a Thai military facility but provided no further details. The Web site of the Manager Group said the aircraft, an Ilyushin 76 transport from Kazakhstan, was traveling from North Korea to Sri Lanka when it asked to land in Bangkok. Officials, it said, found up to 45 tons of weapons on board and detained four citizens of Kazakhstan and one from Belarus. Thai Television station TPBS showed footage of the five men detained and trucks loaded with the weapons being driven out of the airport to a military base in the nearby province of Nakhon Sawan. It said the cache amounted to 35 tons of weapons including rocket-propelled grenades. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091212/ap_on_re_as/as_thailand_weapons

Agreed that the normal Thai diet is much healthier than a typical American diet. Portion sizes are much more reasonable in Thailand than the US. The following article is about the do's in your diet to facilitate a healthy sex life. Essentially it is sensible tips on keeping with a healthier overall diet. Forget oysters and powdered rhino horn; improving your sex life is a lot simpler than tracking down esoteric—not to mention mostly unproven—aphrodisiacs. In fact, you’re probably eating many of the vitamins and nutrients that support a robust sex life right now—just not in sufficient quantities. “One of the best things you can do to ensure a healthy sex life is to eat a well balanced diet,†says Beverly Whipple, PhD, RN, professor emeritus at Rutgers University and coauthor of Science of Orgasm and The Orgasm Answer Guide. These diet dos and don’ts will not only improve your romantic life, they’ll improve your overall health as well. By: Lesley Alderman Do: Eat a balanced breakfast Your meal should include protein and fiber, such as yogurt with fresh berries or peanut butter on whole wheat toast. This combo takes longer to digest, so you’ll have steady energy all morning, which in turn prevents you from making unhealthy choices later on, says Susan Kleiner, PhD, a registered dietician and author of Power Eating. More energy means you won’t be a moody grump when you get home from work, so you can enjoy time with your partner. Do: Drink plenty of liquids Keeping hydrated helps you stay mentally and physically alert all day and helps you go the extra distance at night. “If you're low on fluids, you will be low on those important sexual fluids too,†points out Kleiner. “Drink a couple of cups of water when you rise in the morning after your overnight fast; this is the most dehydrated time of the day.†Keep sipping low-calorie beverages and snacking on foods with high water content throughout the day. Do: Flavor veggies with olive oil and munch on nuts Fats are necessary to produce the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen, notes Whipple. If you adhere to a very-low-fat diet, you won’t have adequate levels of those hormones—both of which are important for women—and your desire will flag. However, be sure to eat healthy unsaturated fats—the kind found in olive oil, fatty fish, and walnuts. Also include some fats that are high in omega-3 fatty acids, such as fatty fish and nuts. Omega-3s may lift your spirits if you suffer from mild depression or bipolar disorder. According to a review published in the French journal Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, omega-3 fatty acids may also help prevent premenstrual syndrome and postmenopausal hot flashes—uncomfortable states that can definitely dampen your mojo. Do: Eat chicken, fish, and lean protein When you don’t have enough protein in your diet, the brain’s level of dopamine—the neurotransmitter associated with feelings of happiness and romance—drops, leaving you feeling blah and definitely not in a frolicking frame of mind. Dopamine may also help with erectile dysfunction in men, says Bonci. “An active woman should have at least 0.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight daily,†adds Kleiner. “Divide your body weight in half, and that is the least amount of protein that you should have in a day.†Do: Enjoy a glass of wine with dinner A small cocktail or glass of wine at night can help get you in the mood for intimacy by giving you a sense of relaxation and calm—perfect precursors for lovemaking, says Reichman. Do: Nibble on dark chocolate after dinner Chocolate makes you feel happy—for real! A few squares in the evening can be the perfect segue to a bedroom rendezvous. In one German study in the journal Appetite, women were given either an apple, a piece of chocolate, or nothing and asked to rate their mood after consuming them. The researchers found that when women ate chocolate, they immediately experienced a mood boost—a much higher spike than after eating an apple (no surprise there!) and that boost stayed for the duration of the observation period, about 90 minutes. Keep a bar of high-quality dark chocolate in your bedside table. “One of the rewards for being human is sex,†says Reichman. “If you want to have sex, it helps to be in an upbeat mood.†http://www.prevention.com/sexdiet/

Seems to me, Thais are more relaxed about raising children than parents in the West. Granted a parent should keep an eagle eye on an eight year old child at the beach, but seems they believe in the concept of "it takes a villiage to raise a child." The reliance on other adults to look after their childrens seems part of child rearing in Thailand.

I don't think it is a matter of brains, more like a natural distrust of the government.

I think it is time for America to quit trying to police the world. Quit with this good cop bad cop bullshit and all the meddling in world politics that they do.

If you have sex with a 17 year old in Thailand, you can be prosecuted for that act in the US. Whether or not it harmed the child has no bearing on the matter, under the law. The Thai law may say it is okay for a 15 year olds to have sex, but not according to the US and many other nations.

I should think there is more to this movement than Thaskin paying the protestors. Since the coup and freezing his many assets in Thailand, I should think Thaskins free-wheeling days are over. As a farang on the sidelines, I may be wrong.

American Man Gets 20 Years for Molesting Thai Children
Wino replied to WannaGo's topic in Thailand News
Here is an article about a 100 year old pedo. Many thought he would die in prison . Here he is out and ready to rape and abuse children again. BUFFALO, N.Y. (Dec. 10) -- Everything that pedophile Theodore Sypnier has to show for his 100 years on earth is packed in a single duffel bag as he prepares to begin a new chapter in life: freedom. It's a chapter that prosecutors, judges and others who know him never wanted -- or expected -- to see written. New York's oldest registered sex offender is scheduled to move by week's end out of a Buffalo halfway house for released inmates and into a place of his own, after completing his latest term in state prison for molesting little girls The judge who sentenced him said at the time that she expected him to die behind bars. But 10 years after his last arrest, as Sypnier prepared to shed the closely monitored lifestyle of the halfway house, its director warned that the spry and active Sypnier has not changed from the manipulator who used his grandfatherly charm to snare and rape victims as young as 4. "Whether he's 100 or 101 or 105, the same person that was committing these crimes 10, 25, 30 years ago still exists today and has an unrepentant heart," said the Rev. Terry King, director of Grace House, which has twice taken Sypnier in from prison. "He is someone that we as parents, as members of the community, any community, really need to fear." Six months after marking his 100th birthday in the Groveland Correctional Facility -- becoming the first New York inmate to reach the milestone while incarcerated -- the retired telephone company worker now says he wants to get to know the youngest members of a family that has disowned him. "I'll tell them I never harmed any children," the father, grandfather and great-grandfather told his hometown newspaper, The Buffalo News. A former daughter-in-law said he is not likely to get the chance. "No one from the family plans to have any contact with him," Diane Sypnier said before ending a brief phone interview. Being grandfatherly was how the 5-foot-5, 150-pound Sypnier found his victims, authorities say. After his most recent arrest at age 90 on charges of raping and sodomizing a 4-year-old girl and her 7-year-old sister, his neighbors in the suburb of Tonawanda recalled what appeared to be a kindly Sypnier offering rides to adults, handing out money to children so they could buy candy, and baby-sitting. The victimized sisters called him "Grandpa," their mother said at the time, adding that it "was a total shock" when police showed her sexually explicit pictures of her girls found in Sypnier's apartment. Sypnier's convictions date to 1987, when he was given three years' probation for sex abuse. He spent a year in prison for sexually abusing a minor in 1994. His neighbors in Tonawanda never knew of Sypnier's background because he was convicted before the adoption of laws requiring sex offenders to register with police. A relative once came forward and said Sypnier had molested her while she was growing up, former Erie County prosecutor Frank Clark told the News. Authorities wonder what else might lie in Sypnier's past. "People don't start to become pedophiles at 78," Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita told the AP. "I call them vampires. ... This is something that's deep inside of them, and they won't want to stop doing this until they're dead." But Sypnier says he is the victim of a miscarriage of justice, despite twice pleading guilty in the case involving the sisters. "Those children crawled into bed with me because they were frightened, but there was never any sexual hanky-panky," Sypnier told the News. Sypnier initially pleaded guilty in 2000 to two counts of rape, 15 counts of sodomy and endangering the welfare of a child for molesting the Tonawanda girls, as well as three in Buffalo. An appeals court threw out the conviction in 2002 after Sypnier claimed he was confused at the time, leading to another plea the following year to a lesser charge. In sentencing Sypnier to as many as 10 years in prison, state Supreme Court Justice Penny Wolfgang told him she expected he would spend the rest of his life behind bars. "The sheer notion of him wandering the streets unattended or unsupervised is a scary proposition," King said. Sypnier was released on parole in 2007, only to be returned to prison in 2008 after failing to attend sex-offender counseling. He completed his term in November and will be on parole through 2012. Until then, he's forbidden from using e-mail, chat rooms or social networking sites; hanging around playgrounds or schools; or spending time in bars. Instead, he spends his days watching television, cooking, socializing in the halfway house and attending programming, King said. Sypnier's new address has not been disclosed, but the law requires him to enter it in the state's sex offender registry. Although his age makes him New York's oldest registered sex offender, there is at least one older offender elsewhere. Bert Jackson of Utah is 103 and living under home confinement. http://www.sphere.com/crime/article/100-year-old-child-molester-to-be-released-from-prison/19274210 -
I have heard some strange places to have sex but this is too much. Two female teachers were allegedly caught nude together in a classroom in Brooklyn, according to a story in the New York Daily News. The women are both language teachers at James Madison High School. According to the newspaper, the linguists were in a classroom nude and "speaking the international language of love" while the students were in the auditorium "watching a talent show." Janitor Robert Colantuoni saw a little show of his own, and, well, informed the principal. According to the Daily News, one of the women is single and a French (ooh-la-la) teacher. The other is married and teaches Spanish. The News called the Spanish teacher's husband and he said, "The school district has not informed my wife of these allegations and they are untrue." (What else would the guy say?) The best line from the story (or the worst, depending on your point of view) is this: "Students said both teachers were popular." One student is quoted in the News as saying that one of the teachers is "kinda sexy" and "dressed like a teenage girl ... low-cut tops, shorts, three-quarter length jeans." The other reportedly wears less provocative clothing but is still described by students as "pretty" and "good-looking," according to the News. Both teachers have tenure. They have been sent to NYC Education Department "rubber rooms" pending an investigation. http://www.parentdis...yn-hs-classroom

Interesting the army would conduct a poll. That does not bode well for a free democracy. Sounds like there may be another coup if the right people do not win.

I saw a guy on a bicycle pedaling down Beach road with a golden cap and streamer. He had a miniature British flag flying from the rear of the bike. He did manage to turn a few heads.

I saw on the news that the 5th international beach football tournament will be held at Jomtien stadium. I have never heard of Jomtien stadium and would think that a beach football tournament would be held at the beach.

Sickos are everywhere and not only in the Catholic Church. Here is an article from last year about three seperate incidents of teachers in Florida having sex with their students. It was an alarming cluster of cases. On March 13, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida arrested Tampa middle school teacher Stephanie Ragusa, 28, for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old boy in her apartment and in the back seat of her Lexus. One week later, the Tampa Police Department charged Mary Jo Spack, 45, a local high school teacher, with having sex with a 17-year-old male student. That encounter reportedly took place in a motel room, where she had been drinking alcohol with a group of the teen's friends, according to officials. Four days later, yet another case surfaced: Lisa Marinelli, 40, a substitute teacher from the Tampa Bay area, was arrested by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old boy on 10 different occasions, mostly in her car. http://www.newsweek.com/id/129652/page/1
