I don't understand why she was "outed" either. Bedroom issues should be private. Some of these looney tunes think you have to set the record straight.

I think this is a different promotion. The free seat are not free because you still pay administration fees and airport tax. The promotion is usually still a steal of a deal.

Confessions of an HIV-positive prostitute in Thailand
Wino replied to CrazyExpat's topic in Thailand News
Looks like it is illegal in New Zealand, as well. Here is a story of a nut. He purposely infected his wife because he wanted sex? What will the children do when mom and dad become sick. Really a sad state of affairs. WELLINGTON (AFP) – An HIV-positive man in New Zealand has admitted injecting his blood into his sleeping wife and infecting her with the virus which can cause AIDS, a newspaper reported Sunday. It is believed the man wanted to give her the disease so she would start having sex with him again, the Sunday Star-Times said. Court documents detail how the man twice pricked his wife with a sewing needle laced with his infected blood, and how she once caught him handling a syringe full of his blood. The man, 35, admitted infecting his wife, 33, and faces up to 14 years imprisonment when he is sentenced in the Auckland High Court early next year. The man discovered he was HIV-positive, but his wife and children were not, during health checks imposed on them when the family arrived in New Zealand in 2004. The woman said she wanted to maintain the relationship for the sake of the children but refused to have sex with her husband as she feared she would contract the disease. She described how in May last year she discovered a sting-like mark on her left thigh and two days later she awoke to a stinging feeling in her leg. During a routine check-up four months later she found she was HIV-positive and confronted her husband who admitted dipping a needle in his blood and pricking her with it. "All he said (was) he was sorry. He said: 'I used needles on you because I wanted you to be the same as me so that you can live with me and you won't leave me'," she said. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091206/hl_afp/healthaidsnzealandcrime -
You know those young ones have a mind of their own. I hope the hippo is found safe and sound. Here is the story. Bangkok - Thailand's Chiang Mai Night Safari has launched a search and rescue operation for a baby hippopotamus that went missing from the zoo's veterinary hospital last week, media reports said Sunday. The baby hippo was last seen in hospital on Thursday, soaking in a tub of water, the Bangkok Post said. A security guard assigned to watch the hippo fell asleep and when he awoke the animal was gone. Hospital staff found tracks leading to a nearby forest in the Chiang Mai Night Safari, which covers 127.6 hectares. Officials dispatched 100 people to search for the hippo but prospects of its survival are deemed low in light of the animal's youth and poor health. The zoo, situated about 650 kilometres north of Bangkok, has been the target of criticism for poor management and mistreatment of animals in the past. Saturday Night Live really comes up with some funny stuff. This is there take on the Tiger Woods hoopla. NEW YORK – Tiger Woods and his marital problems proved a tempting target for "Saturday Night Live." In both a skit and multiple "Weekend Update" jokes this weekend, NBC's comedy institution took on the golfer, who has admitted to letting his family down with "transgressions" that came to light following a strange Thanksgiving weekend incident outside his Florida home. In one skit, actor Jason Sudeikis portrayed Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "Situation Room" reporting on a news conference that Woods (played by Kenan Thompson) and his wife (played by host Blake Lively) were holding outside his home. After Woods admitted to "multiple" transgressions, his wife looked surprised and the screen quickly shifted back to Blitzer. "Breaking news," Blitzer said. "Tiger Woods is back in the hospital. "Apparently just hours after a press conference where he confessed to multiple transgressions, Woods had an accident in his home where he fell down a flight of stairs then inadvertently threw himself through a plate glass window." Woods returned for a later news conference, his wife brandishing a golf club next to him, where he said, "Wow, I've been really clumsy this week." He had more such "accidents," then returns to read a prepared statement with the words "help me" and "I'm scared" written on the back of the papers for the audience to see. In "Weekend Update," anchor Seth Meyers peppered Woods with one-liners. "Last Friday Tiger Woods hit a tree and a bunch of ladies fell out," he said. Meyers noted that Woods and his wife were in negotiations over their prenuptial agreement, and "what's really weird is he presented her with one of those huge, oversized checks." Woods' sponsors are sticking with him, Meyers said, "a gesture that only means one thing — women don't watch golf." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091206/ap_on_en_tv/us_tv_tiger_woods

Another alien/ufo article. Looks like hard times has hit the UFO agencies. “British military ends its UFO hot line as a cost-cutting measure and will no longer investigate any UFO sightings, The hot line has been operating, on and off, since 1959. The spokesman said closing the UFO inquiry unit would save about 44,000 pounds ($73,000) a year.†http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091205/ap_on_re_eu/eu_britain_ufo_hotline;_ylt=Am2Ma39iaMuskMLth867hv3tiBIF;_ylu=X3oDMTJubnBhbWw5BGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkxMjA1L2V1X2JyaXRhaW5fdWZvX2hvdGxpbmUEY3BvcwMxBHBvcwMzBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcnkEc2xrA2Z1bGxuYnNwc3Rvcg--

Here is a list with pictures and brief profiles of the 40 richest people in Thailand. Thaskin is number 16. http://www.pattayadailynews.com/showfeature.php?FeatureID=0000001432

I think there was also a recent fire in China that killed twenty people or so. This can happen anywhere and is probably a terrible death. Burning alive would be horrific although smoke inhalation probably kills many.

Drug convict Sandra Gregory held at Bangkok airport
Wino replied to Beer Chang's topic in Thailand News
Her sentence was commuted to 25 years imprisonment. If the crime happened in 1993, then technically she has a few more years to serve. The Thais did well by turning her away but who knows if they could have re-arrested her. Anything can happen in Thailand. -
This was a news article and not a scientific study published in an animal behavior journal. Take it at face value, valid or not. What they did was to put cam collars on fifty cats. The camera took a photo every 15 minutes. It is interesting how active cats are while the owners are away. I bet most dogs would be asleep on the couch.

I googled it but did not come up with anything. -
I hope it is more than just a few more years. Time will tell what will happen next. My friend went to the Isaan concert Saturday night and had great fun. The festivities are going on tonight, as well.

The article did not mention the other 31%. Any ideas? Maybe 5% sharpening their claws on your furniture?

Looks like Roman is home in his Swiss chalet. After more than two months in a Swiss jail, a Reuters journalist saw Polanski in one of two cars which swept past some 200 reporters and into the garage of the film director's luxury home in the upmarket ski resort of Gstaad."Roman Polanski was today released from custody pending extradition and transferred to Gstaad, where he is under house arrest at his chalet," the Swiss government said in a statement. http://news.yahoo.co..._nm/us_polanski

Another arrest has been made in the tragic Bangkok fire last year on January 1, 2009. At the Santika nightclub, the fire killed 65 people and injured more than 200. “He said police had arrested Saravuth Ariya, 28, the lead singer of Burn. Mr Saravuth is the sixth person to be charged in connection with the fire. The others – all owners and managers of the club – have been charged with causing death by negligence and admitting under age drinkers.†http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/thailand/4357374/Lead-singer-accused-of-Bangkok-nightclub-fire-which-killed-65-people.html

I don’t understand why it cost the school districts millions of dollars, either. Of course, the reason for the teacher’s loss of job was the unauthorized use of school computers, but that would not have happened if he did not have a zeal for finding aliens.

The Thai King calls for stability, prosperity and peace. I hope his desire comes true. BANGKOK (AFP) – Thailand's revered king called on the politically divided nation to unite Saturday, during a brief public excursion from hospital to mark his 82nd birthday. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world's longest reigning monarch, who is regarded as a demi-god by many Thais, made a rare address at Bangkok's royal palace where dignitaries were gathered for his annual birthday ceremony. "My well-being can be achieved with our nation's stability, prosperity and peace," he said. "To achieve these things everyone must determine to perform their duties to their best ability, conscious of their own wisdom and honesty, for the common good above all other interests." The king thanked his well-wishers and urged those in positions of power to be mindful of their duty to the nation. "I am deeply thankful to all of you who have offered birthday wishes to me, with such beautiful and sincere words to bring me joy. "I ask all of you holding important positions in the key institutions of our country to consider thoroughly your duty and make a determination to do your duty to your best ability for success," he said. The king has been a stabilising force during his six politically turbulent decades on the throne. But Thailand has been rocked by years of rival political protests that have sometimes turned violent. The king returned to a Bangkok hospital Saturday after leaving for about one hour, pushed in a wheelchair and wearing the full white royal uniform covered with a gold jacket. King Bhumibol was admitted to Bangkok's Siriraj Hospital on September 19 with a lung infection and fever. He has appeared twice in public since then. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091205/en_afp/thailandroyalhealthking

Wino replied to eleothegreat's topic in Living, Playing, and Reminiscing about Thailand
Not sure how true it is, but according to this website. it cost $1,267 per eye. Cataract Surgery Cost: Thai Baht 42,000 per eye, including lens (US$1,267 at today's exchange rate), using the modern, no-scarring PHACO (emulsification) technique in which the eye's internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic handpiece, and aspirated from the eye. This package price includes: operating room charges, anesthesia, equipment, routine medical supplies AND medication necessary for the procedure, eye medications and doctor's fees. http://www.medical-tourism-in-thailand.com/cost-of-plastic-surgery-in-thailand.html -
Thailand is not the only place that has trouble with crowded nightclub fires. I was sad to hear over a 100 people lost their life in a club fire in Perm, Russia.

Maybe Suridech Blengjidsatien and his uncle had caused these Thais to loose face. Seems extreme but it is possible. Could also be drug related. Who knows?

As the end of the year approaches, out comes many items that happened in the year. Here is the list of nearly 100 famous people that have passed away during the year. Tiger hath forsaken his followers according to the following article. As if he really cares? The "First Church of Tiger Woods" has decided to close its doors after Woods' "personal sins" forced the leader of the church, Pastor John Ziegler, to condemn the professional golfer. On the church's website - tigerwoodsisgod.com - Ziegler slams the man the church once called the "true messiah." "The events of the past few days have revealed Tiger to be a serial adulterer, a blatant liar, and a selfish coward," Ziegler writes on a recent web site post. "Tiger is clearly no longer deserving of being seen as a role model or a hero and he has needlessly squandered his unique potential to be a positive force in our country and the world." The website, now re-named "The Damnation of Tiger Woods," lists the evidence of Tiger's divinity, has various prayers and hymns dedicated to the golfer, and also lists "The 10 Tiger Commandments." Zeigler says the Web site will cease to exist once the lease on the domain name runs out in a few months. http://www.wtop.com/?nid=456&sid=1830034
