  1. With the China-US trade balance, what is $150 million? Drop in a bucket for the Chinese. They are keeping all the US dealerships and the manufacturing plant in Ohio(?). I think the Chinese really bought a bargain.
  2. How up to date is Wikipedia? Seems like the news is filled with guys wanting to meet Alla.
  3. Lobbying your congress representative does make a difference, if the rep hears from enough people.
  4. With all the suicide bombers in the middle east, I would have thought one of those countries would make the list.
  5. Read this interview with a prostitute at http://news.bbc.co.u...fic/6360603.stm Did she have a choice?
  6. This website mentions trends in seasonal suicides dating back to the 1880's. http://www.marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2009/02/does-everyone-get-more-depressed-in-winter.html Seems suicide is a complex subject. Perhaps the winter blues are not as bad as they once were? Maybe it was an urban myth about Seattle being high on the suicide list? I guess the rainy, gloomy days of winter and cabin fever are not as bad these days with all our modern communication gadgets. Although in the vast majority of cases, suicide is a result of mental illness. Major depression is usually the cause and depression can be brought on by a number of reasons.
  7. This By MANUEL MIELNIEZUK, Associated Press Writer, "There's no foul play involved, and it's not suicide. It's just a tragic accident is what we've been told, and we're happy that that is correct information," Kean said. "There is nothing untoward. It's not drugs, we don't believe. It's not suicide. It's not murder. It's not a fight. That's what we've been told." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091011/ap_on_en_mu/eu_obit_stephen_gately
  8. Seems to me, that most of the Isaan prostitutes are forced into profession due to proverty. So is this a crime?
  9. I don't understand the "you broke it, you bought it theory." We broke Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as Vietnam. Did we not learn anything from Vietnam? In my opinion, the US can not and should not be the policeman of the world and try to impose its might and will on other countries.
  10. Seems drugs are the downfall of many popular stars that have died early. As in the case of Heath Ledger, even a combination of prescription drugs can cause death.
  11. Singer Gladys Knight at age 65 is going to retire after her current tour. What are the pips going to do now that Gladys is hanging it up?
  12. This according to Andrew Miga of the Associated Press: Thousands of gay men and women are expected to gather for Sunday's National Equality March. U.S Representative Barney Frank, D- Mass., an openly gay member of Congress, says he would rather see gay rights supporters lobbying their elected officials than marching in Washington this weekend, calling the demonstration "a waste of time at best." Frank said such demonstrations were "an emotional release" that did little to pressure Congress. "The only thing they're going to be putting pressure on is the grass." Do you think Barney is right?
  13. Just read an article by Leroy Chapman Jr. that states, "Wilson raised $2.7 million in the quarter, according to reports on Friday. I think Joe has seen an opportunity and managed to tap into it." It seems yelling "you lie" has made him a celebrity and brought in big bucks and national interest.
  14. Hummer, the off-road vehicle with military roots has been sold to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corp. for a reported $150 million. When GM filed for bankruptcy last summer they listed the price as $500 million. Both the US and Chinese governments still have to approve the deal. Looks like China is getting a bargain.
  15. I would guess either drugs/alcohol or heart attack.
  16. Maybe WannaGo is right. The news is the 6,000 mph probe that hit the moon went splat. No lunar cloud of dust and ice crystals, as expected. Hey it only cost about $79 million. I hope the boys had fun in Costa Rica.

What do you mean "people who truly butcher the language?"
  18. Yes, that is true. Inner beauty, you know!
  19. That is a surprise. I wouldn't think ladyboys like to play volleyball, they might break a nail or mess up the hairdo.
  20. Happy endings are popular worldwide. I suspect that Thai Massage would be popular amongst the Swedes even without the happy ending.
  21. Any documentation? I wouldn't mind reading up on the issue.
  22. Seems to me, the banks worldwide went fee crazy. You sneeze in the bank and they want to charge you a fee!!!
