He ought to either read the book or see the movie, The Boys from Brazil

And some of us have nerve enough to joke about 'Thai Logic.'

The man is living in the past. It has been quite a long time since having children meant that a couple must be married. If first cousins really want to live together and have children, they're likely to do it whether married or not.

Yes, I have the recipe. It is available online. I'll bet you have a recipe of your own too and if so I'd like to try it. I read about how they made her look so tall: "Because of Meryl Streep's height (5'6") several camera/set/costume tricks had to be employed to mimic Julia Child's height (6'2"). Countertops were lowered, Streep wore extra high heels, and forced perspective camera angles were used."

I have a feeling that those of you interested in cooking will fall in love with the film "Julie & Julia." I thought it was excellent. After seeing it I just must try Julia Child's Boeuf Bourguignon recipe. Lvdkeyes, have you seen this film yet? I'm very curious as to what you thought of it.

I don't know. That would be a better reason to vote for someone than a great many people come up with for selecting their candidate of choice.

Schengen Visa For Thais
Thaimo replied to PeterSverige's topic in Visa and Immigration to Other Countries
I am not surprised. I gave thought to deleting this thread, but on second thought I think it should be left intact so that our board users can see that a need for a "consultant" is utter crap. If this man wants to advertise, he needs to do so honestly. I get very unreasonable when I see someone trying to con others into using a business that I believe he probably owns himself and is not necessary to use at all. Before I would ever use this "consultant" I would want to check his licensing, check his passport to see his name and what kinds of visas he holds, check whether he holds a work permit (and report him to the immigration authorities if he doesn't) and what that permit covers, review his credentials and documentation as to what qualifies him as a consultant in this field, and would want to find out what he can do (most likely for a hefty fee) that you can't easily do yourself. He also needs to learn to spell. If he can't advertise honestly, then I invite him to leave this message board. If you're getting the impression that I'm angry, you're right. -
Schengen Visa For Thais
Thaimo replied to PeterSverige's topic in Visa and Immigration to Other Countries
I have spotted this gentleman posting the same ad about this "great consultant" on several Thailand message boards. I smell a rat. I think "them" is "him." Try getting the visa yourself first before using this wonderful, honest consultant. The first three letters of the word "consultant" somehow stand out in my mind. -
Schengen Visa For Thais

I have heard that it is fairly easy through the Austrian Embassy. -
Do you have a favorite restaurant in Thailand, or if you're like me and can't single out just one, do you have a set of favorites? For me, in Bangkok it's the buffet at the Sofitel-Silom. It is very high quality and done as themes. Sometimes it's an Italian theme and mot of the food choices are Italian. Sometimes it's Greek. Sometimes it's other things, but it's always fabulous. And I love their dessert bar, with their chocolate fountain. It's about 850 baht, including the service charge. It's definitely not the place to go if you're looking for a low cholesterol meal. I also like the Vickie L'amour restaurant on Soi Ngam Duplee. It's a small restaurant, but I love the food and their prices are quite reasonable. In Chiang Mai, I love the Art Cafe, especially their breakfasts. In Pattaya, when I can afford it my favorite is Casa Pascal. A much more affordable restaurant, but with food and service that is only a notch or two below Casa Pascal, is Wi's. Those are my top favorites. There are others, of course, but these would be my first choices as favorites. What's your favorites?

And I thank God every day that the word "work" is now applied in the past tense. While I'm not thrilled about getting old, the silver lining on that cloud is "The Big R." Retirement is a wonderful thing. Often I miss what I did for a living, but I sure don't miss those annoyances.

Oh, I don't think you'll see very many Chinese tourist groups making a stop at Graceland.

You are accountable. Let's discuss new strategies. Meetings at which someone says, "I won't read to you," and then they read to you. And my all time favorite - the one that most makes me want to vomit: "Thank you for sharing that with me."
-
I understand why you would include the Chinese on the list, but I can also understand why they were not mentioned. Other than Thailand, where do Chinese tourists ever travel in numbers enough to even be noticed? I don't have any idea about the Russians. I don't know much about their travel habits and I haven't had any negative encounters with them. At least they're independent whereas the Chinese don't seem to go more than 14 feet unless they're on a tour bus and traveling in a group, usually a controlled group.

I don't know about Tops, but you can at Villa Market. I am not sure, but I think I might have seen a grinder at Foodland. If you have a recent model blender, many of them come with a coffee grinder attachment and you can grind your coffee at home. I don't like instant coffee either, but the ready ground coffees are good enough for me. There is an inexpensive brand called Doi sold at Villa Market and probably elsewhere too. I like their French Roast and it's only 115 baht for a 250 gram bag. It's a Thai coffee and some of you will frown on that, especially if you are among those who accept the idea that the best coffee necessarily comes from Colombia, but Thailand grows excellent quality coffee and I do recommend giving some of the domestic brands a try. If you like it as I do, you can save a lot of money.

It has been my experience that while it does exist, sex slavery is very rare in Thailand. There is virtually no need for it given the tremendous availability. Most of the sex slavery I have heard about occurs when Thais are lured and sold into sex slavery in other countries.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend seeing the movie "The Kite Runner."

I have to agree with lvdkeyes. Years ago the Lek Hotel was very good and the best breakfast deal in Pattaya. Now I wouldn't go if it was free. I heard the restaurant had changed management. Ever since it went downhill and stayed there. The Diana Inn and the Apex are maybe about one notch better than the Lek Hotel. Since the days when the Lek Hotel was good, many more of these kinds of breakfasts have opened in Pattaya. If you want to spend the money, I think about 800 baht, it's hard to beat the breakfast at the Marriott. That Danish restaurant I mentioned earlier on this thread is the best I've found so far in Pattaya.

Are you using the same browser the internet shop uses? If not, switch to it. If yes, make a list of all the settings they're using and set yours to the same settings. Also, check the graphics and display settings the internet shop is using and see to it that yours are set the same way. If none of that works, then I have no other suggestions I can make without personally seeing your computer. You will need a technician to take a look. You might also try your neighbor's kid. Kids these days know more than the technicians.

Not at all and I'm glad you asked. This problem is common to message boards. Often, people assume the moderators deleted posts without a valid reason when, in fact, the actual cause was something beyond their control. It is the policy of this board not to remove anyone's posts unless the post violates board rules or the author of the post requests that the post be removed and can provide justification to our satisfaction that we do so. In other words, once you hit that 'submit' button, your post is here to stay. If you find it gone without us having contacted you about it, let us know.

I don't know what Thaksin did or did not authorize. I believe in harsh measures against drug dealers, but summary execution is not among the measures I would favor.

Sometimes making upgrades and/or changing servers causes that kind of glitch. Missing posts will be restored if possible.

Airport Worker Plants White Powder In Passenger's Luggage
Thaimo replied to Beer Chang's topic in World News and Politics
I agree. If I had my way he would also be heavily fined. This was his idea of a prank? I wonder why he even wanted to pull a prank and how he decided to choose this particular girl. Unbelievable.
