  1. I have a suggestion - Don't cook food in direct contact with aluminum foil; aluminum has been associated with Alzheimer's disease. Put a piece of cooking parchment between the foil and the food. You get the same taste in the food without the risk.
  2. I have found that tailor's are the solution to cover my big ass.
  3. It's about 30 years now; isn't it about time?
  4. Speaking of welfare cheats, when I was doing home health care in San Francisco, I went to visit a woman who lived in a very nice house high on a hill over looking city college. Those familiar with SF will know that is a very nice neighborhood. She had beautiful furniture (nicer than mine) and a newer Lincoln parked in her garage. She was receiving MediCal which is California's MediCaid (welfare). I don't know how she qualified, but MediCal is what was paying for her health care.
  5. Two other Lana Turner movies I like are Imitation of Life and Madam X. Both great movies in my book.

I think the correct title is "The Legend of Suriyothai".
  7. 10) They are running to the bathroom to vomit. 9)
  8. Not something I relish.
  9. The problem for me with the string was I always had a stethoscope around my neck too and I thought I would strangle myself a few times.
  10. The BVM's were actually the Sister of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and there was nothing charitable about them.
  11. Missouri? That is surprising.

This is almost correct. It has never been colonized by a WESTERN country.
  15. I avoid Walking Street completely. It is one big tourist trap with loud music, fake muay thai boxing and touts trying to lure into their establishment. As far as seafood restaurants go, I think they are over priced on Walking Street. One of my favorite seafood places in Pattaya it at the far end of Jomtien Beach Road. I don't know the name, but it is where you can't go any further along the beach. It is pleasant to sit out beside the water, the food is good and reasonable. The place is mostly patronized by Thais.
  16. The tsunami changed Phuket. I haven't been there since the tsunami, but I understand that the one good thing to come from it was it cleaned up some of the mess. The problem with Phuket is it is so much more expensive than other parts of Thailand.
  17. I can get by without glasses too, except for reading. When I was working, I was forever putting glasses on and taking them off. I got fed up with it and got progressive bifocals. The eye doctor was able to help my long distance vision with them. It took awhile to get used to them, but now I am glad to have them. Much less hassle than only reading glasses.
  18. Bob, What order of nuns were they? At my school they were BVM's (Black Veiled Monsters). We had a Sister Mary Edna too who was a terror to 5th graders. I wonder if it was the same bitch. I had Sister May Albia in 6th grade who was even worse.
  19. A spoon is really more efficient and less messy than a fork for most foods.
  20. Tooth whitening is simple, safe, fast (1 hour), and inexpensive, I think I saw ad for it for 6500 baht. There is some tenderness for about 24 hours, but nothing horrendous. So I have been told. I haven't had it done. For smokers or those who drink a lot of coffee or black tea, it will need to be done again in time.
  21. Time to get better glasses. I did.
  22. I do enjoy a good thunderstorm with cracking lightening too. Of course, I like it only if I am indoors watching it.
  23. A visit to the emergency room can bankrupt you in itself.
