I guess there's a difference of opinion on how big a deal is a one day overstay. While I doubt that anyone would actually go to jail for overstaying one day with a plane ticket out in his possesion, I wouldn't want an overstay stamped on my passport. Who knows in the future it could have an impact on let's say, getting what we commonly call the retirement visa.

Whether one considers Sarah a MILF is up to them.
Different issue, but a friend of mine will be overstaying one day. He could get the 7-10 day extension but thinks he'll just pay the 500 baht fine at airport. I don't like the idea of having an overstay on one's record but up to him.
Not sure what the criteria is to make Pattaya Mail and other such sources but I guess a bike crash where the driver dies and no other casualties doesn't make the cut.

I've already paid for two Air Asia flights I didn't take. Seems like a good idea to book these 200 baht flights six months in advance but I wind up not using them.
Yes, in democracies everyone gets a vote, but the system is such that the ruling elite, the invisible government comprised of rich guys who contribute to both parties, stay in power.
I think it's easy to get a 7 day extension (or maybe even 14) by going to Immigration in Jomtien and paying up.
There are some border towns in Cambodia, and for about 2000 baht a van will bring you there and back in the same day.
