I was told by the Captain at Jomtien that I could use a January letter in March. But I wasn't sure if it was just for me because they refused a visa renewal more than 90 days before expiration.

Friend of mine say they do this in parts of China.

I hate waiters asking to take my plate too. I might want to transfer food from another's plate to mine.

Even if you hit the lottery, a fleet of planes will probably be out of reach. I'd be content to fly first class. But only if my net worth was least 5M USD.

I agree. Switching in one country and not the other complicates airline schedules etc. For me, standard time is easier since there's exactly a 12 hour difference between Bangkok and New York. But it means football starts at 1AM instead of midnight.
