eleothegreat
This one is sure to cause a blizzard. If you're familiar with Mango Float/Peach Float/Choco Float, then here's something that will surely tickle your palate. Best served chilled. 1 500g can of Fruit Cocktail - sliced fruits in fruit syrup or juice 1/2 cup of sweetened/condensed milk 2 cups of all purpose cream three cups of graham crackers, crushed 1 cup of oreos, crushed 1. drain the mixed fruits. keep the fruits. throw away the juice (or keep it for future use). 2. mix the sweetened/condensed milk with the all purpose cream - adjust the mixture to achieve desired sweetness 3. line the botton of an aluminum dish or serving container with crushed graham crackers. 4. pour half of the milk and cream mix over the graham crackers 5. place half of the fruits on top of the milk and cream mixture 6. cover the fruits with another layer of crushed graham crackers 7. repeat steps 4 and 5 8. cover the second layer of fruits with the crushed oreos 9. store in the freezer for a couple of hours to harden 10. transfer in the fride an hour or so before serving ] This is a complete hit during parties. Last week during my daughter's christening, the cake that I bought (and served) tasted completely horrendous. No wonder the guests left their cake slices untouched. Luckily I took out two big serving dishes of Dessert Storm. They all loved it - and that saved my cake disaster. Too bad I forgot to take photos. lvdkeyes
One of my favorite desserts is Filipino fruit salad. Would you post your recipe for it? I want to compare it with a recipe I got from a Pinoy in the US.
eleothegreat
I'd be glad to. I'll post it in a new topic. Fruit salad is the best - and there are plenty of variations (some weird ones as well - like the Tapioca and Fruit salad I just tried last night at my friend's daughter's birthday party.)
