lvdkeyes
Barbra Streisand's new CD, LOVE IS THE ANSWER, is out. I just downloaded it and whether you love her or hate her, you must admit she is a phenomenal talent. She is fast approaching 68 years old and her voice is still clear and strong. Beer Chang
Honestly her music doesn't do much for me. Good voice of course, but don't like her song selection Rumoured she slept with Bill Clinton.

Beer Chang
A friend was playing some of her early stuff and there were some songs I liked but I can't remember their names. I prefer fun upbeat music and that's not Barbra's style. Good pipes though.
Beer Chang
An example of the songs that I prefer female vocalists to perform is Stuff Like That There. The original recording was in 1945 by Betty Hutton and Bette Midler did an excellent cover. Here's the Kelly Clarkson version.
Beer Chang
Let's move onto the slow stuff which I suppose is Barbra's strong suit. Here's Ella's version of Bewitched. It sounds real and you can feel the subtle sexuality. Ella Now Barbra just sounds affected and phoney (to ME that's what makes life interesting we all have different tastes)
