Wino
He has worked for that "charmed life". It wasn't handed to him at birth.I am not saying he has not worked hard. Like being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, he has been lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Hard work and luck go hand in hand. Wino
Or did he create his own good luck and put himself in the right place at the right time? I believe you have to have both good luck and work hard, although there is always the exception to the rule, look at George Bush.

Wino
In his case he just has a rich powerful daddy. Daddy can work miracles when it comes to junior. Wino
By being put in office by the Supreme Court.A rich powerful daddy and some smart, high-priced lawyers can do almost anything. Junior made it on his own the second time around. I can't believe the American people went along with that.

Wino
It's amazing how a topic about Obama winning the Nobel peace price can deteriorate into 'Bush Bashing'. Wize up guys, Bush has gone and won't ever be back. Time to move on ..... I know it is time to move on but "Bush bashing" is so fun and oh so easy. Here is a good one about his presidential library. Bush Presidential Library There's a show on C-SPAN about presidential libraries. Here're what the draft plans for the George W. Bush Library now call for: The Alberto Gonzales Room - Where you can't remember any of the exhibits. The Hurricane Katrina Room - It's still under construction. The Texas Air National Guard Room - Where you don't have to even show up. The Walter Reed Hospital Room - Where they don't let you in. The Guantanamo Bay Room - Where they don't let you out. The Weapons of Mass Destruction Room - Nobody has been able to find it. The War in Iraq Room - After you complete your first tour, they can force you to go back for your second and third and fourth and fifth tours. The K-Street Project Gift Shop - Where you can buy an election, or, if no one cares, steal one. The Men's Room - Where you could meet a Republican Senator (or two). To be fair, the President has done some good things, and so the museum will have an electron microscope to help you locate them. When asked, President Bush said that he didn't care so much about the individual exhibits as long as his museum was better than his father's. Wino
Bush may well be gone, but the damage he did lives on. I am not sure how true any of this is, but came across this rather long "Bush resume." George W. Bush's Resume George W. Bush The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, D.C. 20500 Past Work Experience * Ran for congress and lost. * Produced a Hollywood slasher B movie. * Bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas; company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. * Bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. Wino
When it comes to the political arena, it helps to be smart but becoming president of the United States takes money, luck and political savvy. Two Rhodes scholars that ran for president but did not gain their parties nomination come to mind, Senator Bill Bradley (D-NJ) and Senator Richard Lugar (R- IND).
