Wino
This is a cinderella story if ever I saw one. By Associated Press Writer Tom Maliti – Mon Oct 19, 2009 KASESE, Uganda – For years, Charles Wesley Mumbere worked as a nurse's aide in Maryland and Pennsylvania, caring for the elderly and sick. No one there suspected that he had inherited a royal title in his African homeland when he was just 13. On Monday, after years of political upheaval and financial struggle, Mumbere, 56, was finally crowned king of his people to the sound of drumbeats and thousands of cheering supporters wearing cloth printed with his portraits. The new King of Uganda's Mountains of the Moon has undergone many transformations — from teenage leader of a rebel force to impoverished student to a nursing home assistant working two jobs in the U.S., where he lived for nearly 25 years. http://news.yahoo.co.../af_uganda_king

Wino
Africa is a continent that really needs to get its act together. When the Africans read some of the news coming out of North America and Europe, I bet they say the same thing about us.
Wino
Here is an example of some of the nuts in North America. I wonder what the world thinks about all these crazy people? I bet that nurse aide turned Ugandan King says to himself, "now those wacky Americans need to get their act together." COLUMBIA, Tenn. — A man who authorities say previously was involved with bestiality pornography has been charged with animal cruelty. Sheriff's investigators said Tuesday that 58-year-old James Michael Tait was having sex with horses on a Maury (MUHR'-ee) County farm. The farm owner, 44-year-old Kenny Thomason, also was charged with animal cruelty. Investigators said they seized photos in the case. Tait and Thomason are in jail. Court officials said they had no record of attorneys for the men. King County, Wash., authorities say Tait in 2005 videotaped another man, Kenneth Pinyan, having sex with a horse. Pinyan later died of internal injuries from the incident. The Washington investigators said they found about 100 pornographic bestiality videos of Tait and others. Tait got a suspended sentence on a trespassing conviction, and Washington later outlawed bestiality. http://www.gastongaz...dd-accused.html
Bob
Rather gross, Wino, but there are some strange people out there, that's for sure. A colleague of mine was once representing some strange guy (he was about 40, about 400 pounds, and was developmentally disabled with the mind of about an 8-year-old) and, in the process of interviewing him, had to ask about a prior conviction involving cows (he apparently worked on a farm at the time and put ribbons around the ears of his "favorite" cows). Anyway, the colleague finally got around to saying: "Well, I need to ask you about a prior conviction, apparently involving some cows?" The strange dude thought about it for a few seconds and then loudly proclaimed: "Yea, but I don't do no goats!" You see, everybody has a value system! Wino
What a value system! The thought of bestiality is rather gross. There are so many strange people out there. During a summer break in college, I worked as a construction laborer. I remember a black guy who grew up picking cotton in Mississippi and he was very comical. He was a happy go lucky sort of guy but could really stir up his co-worker when he started talking about his favorite mule. I don’t think the guy was developmentally challenged but he had no education and could not read and write. There are all kinds of people in this world and I don't think one continent is any better or worst than the other.
Bob
There are all kinds of people in this world and I don't think one continent is any better or worst than the other. Agreed. Every country seems to have its mutants and hopefully there's selective genetic mutations taking place for the better (i.e., I hope Darwin didn't have it backwards!). I hope Darwin did not have it backward, also. This article seems to think modern man is still evolving. http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20091026/hl_time/08599193175700
