WannaGo
This seems like much ado about nothing...it was one in a series of billboards advertising a wax museum in Pattaya. Thailand covers Hitler billboard Museum officials in Thailand have covered a billboard depicting Adolf Hitler saluting after complaints from the German and Israeli embassies. The advertisement, which reads in Thai, "Hitler is not dead," was set up on a main road out of Bangkok two weeks ago. More
Wino
In my book, this is much ado about nothing. Others are very sensitive, especially if your family was wiped out in the holocaust.
Thaifan
I understand the Museums point of view - we shouldn't forget him just because he was so evil. People need to be kept aware to prevent such a monster ever coming to prominence again. I think it was the wording of the 'ad' which was wrong. Maybe even a simple change like 'Evil is not dead' would have been more acceptable.
lvdkeyes
Now, do we protest that they have an ad for a pedophile?
Wino
I came across this picture on the internet of the billboard in the Pattaya area, advertizing the new museum. I think as reported, the Thai translation is "Hitler is not dead."
